THE PROBLEM
Twenty years of foundation planting had grown over the windows, and the bed line had wandered a foot into the lawn in every direction.
WHAT WE DID
Took out eleven overgrown shrubs and two stumps, recut the bed line with steel edging, amended the soil and planted a mixed border that tops out under the sills.
RESULT
The house is visible from the street for the first time in a decade, and the bed line will stay where we put it.
